OTepp Registration Procedure
Internationally educated occupational therapists (IEOTs) and re-entry candidates who are eligible to take the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) national occupational therapy certification examination (NOTCE) and who meet the language requirements of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) may apply to join OTepp.
OTepp hours are recognized towards currency hours by certain provincial regulatory organizations. Please contact your respective provincial regulatory organization to inquire about the currency hours you require.
All OTepp modules are offered online for distance participants. Some modules are also offered in face-to-face format at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Applicants who are living abroad but meet the eligibility criteria may also join OTepp.
Individual registrants will take part in an intake interview process to help determine which elements of OTepp are most appropriate for their needs.
Participants who register to take part in the core curriculum module will be expected to join two classes per week (3 hours each), spend up to an additional 12 hours per week on homework and assignments to meet the requirements of each course. The amount of preparation time may vary for each individual. Participants who do not meet this standard may be asked to withdraw the core curriculum module.
Participants who wish to register must complete and sign a consent form in addition to completing the registration form. Since OTepp is currently a funded government project, there are no tuition fees associated with participating in OTepp. For participants enrolled in the Core Curriculum, there may be additional costs associated with recommended textbooks, transportation to class or placement, and pre-placement tasks.
To register, please download the registration and consent form and once completed, email it to Nancy Lidstone.
